opportunities, the Business Expo is
held every January – this year
on January 20. Please be involved.

GROUND HOG
JOB SHADOW
SET FOR
FEBRUARY 2
On Wednesday, February 2, 2011, the
Education / Human Resources Committee
of the Tyler Area Chamber of Commerce
will be celebrating Groundhog Student
Job-Shadow Day. This is a day dedicated
to giving high school students from the
Tyler area an opportunity to be the
“shadow” of someone working within a
career that the student is interested in.
Job-shadowing enables students to
shadow a workplace mentor as he or
she goes through a normal day on the
job, providing an up-close look at how
the skills learned in school are put into
action in the workplace.
Groundhog Student Job-Shadow Day
will begin with students arriving at the
business location at the regular opening
time of the business. After a morning
of job-shadowing, students and their
business partners are invited to a
hosted luncheon at 12:00 noon at Tyler
Junior College – West Campus (RTDC).
Chad Foster, one of America’s most
sought-after speakers, will be our guest.
After lunch, business partners and their
shadows will resume their shadowing
activities. If you would like to sign your
