“And in the end, it’s not the years in your life that count.
It’s the life in your years.”
With the aging Baby Boom generation, the demand for services for older
Americans continues to increase. The Salvation Army is prepared to meet the
needs of the elderly when no one else will care for them.
We operate two apartment complexes where 215 low-income senior citizens can
live independently. Through our Community Care Ministries, we personally visit
lonely people in nursing homes, hospitals and other facilities throughout the year.
We also offer weekday fellowship groups where seniors can maintain a sense of
connection to others by participating in crafts, ceramics, sewing, dominoes, games,
exercise, sing-alongs, dancing, and listening to guest speakers.
