“I am grateful for thesupport I receivedfrom UMFK, and Iam pleased to giveback to the Universityso that it mayhelp others, as ithelp ed me .”Ben Paradis has taught school in Fort Kent sincethe fall of 1967. Whether on the elementary, highschool or college level, he has brought life to scienceand physics classes by engaging his studentsand making learning fun.Outside of the classroom, Ben has devoted morethan 30 years to coaching youngsters in the communityin the sport of skiing. For his selfless service,he was inducted into the Maine Ski Hall of Fame lastfall.Through it all, Ben always has remembered theeducation he received at UMFK.“We (the Class of 1967) had a lot of class spirit,”he recalls. “I have kept that spirit throughout theyears.”While he was a student, Ben learned to ask hisprofessors for help when he needed it. Their supportgave him the opportunity to grow and to succeed,both personally and professionally.
