Phonathon: It’s All About Good PeopleThank you very much to all who answered the call during our 2007 Phonathon to pledgeover $54,000 to the Annual Fund. This amount does not include “your decisions,” those whomay yet participate but who are not committed to a pledge amount. These “your decisions” arebeing received daily (last year totaling over $42,000). Funds raised this year for the AnnualFund will be targeted for updating the Theatre and Art Room and wireless technology and maybe restricted by donors.Thanks to you, we will surpass our Phonathon ’07 goal of $75,500. Last year’s goal of$75,000 was surpassed with a collection of $88,000…we anticipate the same or more this year.In addition, on the last night of our Student Phonathon, precipitated by a call made by oneof our students, a gift of $100,000 was pledged by an alum to The Courage to Lead CapitalCampaign!Those families we were unable to reach and those not available when our phonathoners calledstill have an opportunity to participate. Please send your check noting it for the Annual FundPhonathon and payable to Marian Catholic High School (fully tax deductible). If you wish to pay overtwelve months or charge your gift to Visa, Discover, or Master Card, please call PhonathonCoordinator, Peg Massucci (708.756.9427).Our returning volunteer Co-Chairs, alumni parent Sue Dawson, and current parent, NancyHathhorn, are to be commended for being so incredibly generous with their time, as well assophomore Kaitlyn Hathhorn for the time she gave coordinating the processing at all foursessions of the Parent Phonathon.The Phonatahon Committee, parent and student callers and processors made it possible tocontact over 8,500 members of the MCHS community, more than 900 of whom pledged withhundreds of “your decisions” being made. Parents called current and alumni parents and studentscalled alumni raising over $54,000 over seven calling sessions. Without each and every one of you,we could not have reached our goal.It should be noted that many of our volunteers are alumni parents who return year after yearlong after their students have graduated.Thanks also to Carlo Gozzi ’00 and Cassandra Gray ’00 who came back to help at theStudent Phonathon.
