Course Description<strong>Macroeconomics</strong> focuses on the study of the American economy, stressingthe interrelationships among household, business, and government sectors.Explores saving and investment decisions, unemployment, inflation, nationalincome accounting, taxing and spending policies, the limits of the market andgovernment, public choice theory, the Federal Reserve System, money andbanking, and international trade.This section of <strong>ECO</strong>-<strong>201</strong> <strong>Macroeconomics</strong> makes use of personal computers,the world wide web and email. You may use CMC’s computer labs if you donot have your own PC (or Mac).III. Course ObjectivesUpon completion of this course, the student should demonstrate knowledgeand/or skill in the following areas:1. Demonstrate awareness of economic concepts including saving andinvestment, market forces, national income accounting and the nature ofthe relationship between the public and private sectors of the economy.2. Manifest the ability to recognize, collect and analyze objectiveperformance data employing the scientific method. Further, understandand use models that project possible economic outcomes.3. Show understanding of the fundamental significance of the effective andefficient use of society‚s scarce resources.4. Demonstrate an understanding of International Interdependence and thepossible economic consequences of varied courses of action.5. Demonstrate the ability to select and apply contemporary forms oftechnology to solve problems or compile information.6. Read, analyze and apply written materials to new situations7.
