page two ■ Wednesday, December 14, 2011Journey to JesusBy: Rose WilliamsAt Journey to Jesus thisyear, elementary boys and girlstraveled in time to ChristmasPast, Present, and Future.Their first stop was Christmas,1941, where they visited with adad whose son was heading tothe Pacific to defend our country.They heard how Christ isthe reason for Christmas, andeven when we have hard times– individually or as a nation –Christmas is a time to worshipChrist and look to Him for ourstrength and help. Their nextstop was Christmas Present,2011, where they visited a familyon Christmas morning. Theywatched as the family gave giftsand shared God’s Word witheach other. The third stop ontheir journey was to visit aschool classroom in ChristmasFuture, December 25, 2061. Inthat future time, Christmas wasno longer celebrated becauseGod’s children had stopped tellingothers about Jesus. Boys andgirls were encouragedto never stop telling peopleabout Jesus. To keepChrist in Christmas, theymade Christmas cardsthat celebrate Jesus’birth, took pictures in amanger scene, and worshipedGod around a nativity,complete with areal baby. We’ll have cake and balloons andlots of fun birthday songs and worship. 3-5th Gr. will celebrate during JuniorChurch at 9:30am. K-2nd Gr. will continue the party during their JuniorChurch time at 11am. K’s will spend the whole hour at the party and can bepicked up from the Children’s Worship Room (Rm. 150). Elementary childrenhere at 8:15am will spend the whole worship time with their parents in “BigChurch”. Bible School classes at 9:30 and 11am will go on as usual.
