They arealso designed to be totally compatible with the full range ofmanufacturers’ control systems.This enables operators to benefit from the latestdevelopments in anode technology, whilst providingconsiderable cost savings in comparison with replacementusing conventional designs from the original equipmentmanufacturer.
Easier installationThe installation of C-Shield systems follows wellestablished principles which have been approved byall of the leading classification societies.Depending on the type of anodes being fitted, workbegins by cutting holes in the hull to accommodatebosses or doubler plates. These are welded in positionready to receive cofferdams, enabling watertightelectrical connections to be made to the anode.Elliptical anode being fittedDi-electric shield surrounding elliptical anodeFor surface mounted anodes, a mounting plate or mounting studsare welded to the exterior hull surface in preparation for fitting theanode. At this stage, the surrounding area is carefully grit blastedto a white metal finish. Next, a layer of mastic is applied to theanode mounting surface in order to create a watertight seal whenthe anode is fitted and the studs are tightened.
