Testing & Quality AssuranceAPPLE GROUP prides itself in producing high quality,dependable materials. This can only be accomplished with adisciplined, predictable Quality Assurance (QA) process.QA personnel are assigned at the beginning of the project. Thefirst task is for the QA team to become familiar with the projectrequirements. They will provide feedback to the technical Lead,requesting changes for clarity, when requirements are nottestable. Once the requirements baseline is set, the QA team isresponsible for developing the overall project test plan.The test plan outlines the goals, approach, resources, and risks ofthe test effort. It also includes the test schedule. The plan willcover cross-functional areas of responsibilities with respect toQA/Testing. This can include client, development, management,configuration management, as well as internal QA responsibilities.The plan is then distributed for review and approval. The QAteam utilizes a defect reporting process. This process capturesthe known errors in the system, describes them to development,allows for the tracking of status, and closes when a fix isdelivered and retested. The QA team utilizes an in-house tool forthe defect reporting process, or can use a system asrecommended by the client.At the conclusion of the testing, the QA team compiles a TestReport to summarize the testing activities. This is used tocommunicate lessons learned during the QA process.
