Careers and EducationLearning is Changing…What do you need to know?From this year, all young people have tostay in learning until the August afterthey turn 17. BUT, this doesn’t meanyou have to stay on in school or atcollege - you can choose anapprenticeship or a job that offers theopportunity for you to learn and getqualifications alongside it.Learning from 16-18 is free and if youare employed you will receive a wage.The official school leaving date for Y11students is Friday 28 June. It is againstthe law for a Y11 school leaver to startfull time employment or training beforethis date.
