Furthermore, the fear and anguish of a sexual assault victim maycontinue because they attend the same classes. In other cases, a victim may be harassed byclassmates or by a perpetrator’s friends who claim that the victim “asked for it” or “provoked” thecrime.Survivors of sexual assault, domestic violence, dating violence, and stalking from diversecommunities confront additional challenges when seeking assistance. Victims with disabilitiesmay struggle with obstacles, such as shelters that cannot physically accommodate them. Youthfrom culturally specific communities may face linguistic or cultural barriers to obtaining servicesas well as discrimination when they attempt to obtain services.Please read the Grants to Services to Advocate For and Respond to Youth Program Callfor Concept Papers in its entirety before beginning your application. It is the responsibilityof the applicant to ensure that the application is complete and that all eligibility requirementshave been met at the time of application submission. Final award decisions are not appealable.Deadline: Letter of IntentIf you intend to apply for Fiscal Year (FY) 2010 funding under this program, we encourage youto submit a letter stating that you intend to apply for funding.
