Hospital HoldsAlternative Lecture SeriesWaterbury Hospital recently held the Florence ErlangerAlternative Medicine Lecture Series to educate members ofthe clinical and medical community, and the general publicabout alternative medical therapy. Beatriz R. Olson, MD, anattending physician at Waterbury Hospital who specializes inEndocrinology, discussed how the body’s biology evolved todeal with a simpler environment than it currently has and howignoring these newfound environmental factors could resultin a lack of wellness.Florence Erlanger, RN, graduated from Waterbury Hospital’sSchool of Nursing in 1942. She used complementary therapiesto heal her patients while an employee at WaterburyHospital and while serving as director at area nursing homes.After her passing, Erlanger’s friends established a fund tocarry on her memory.
