Books, magazines, CDs,games and even video movies are free.• Check out cooperative buying programs through local organizations.• Lower your thermostat during the day, and turn it off when you go tobed.• When you can, walk, join a car pool or take public transportationinstead of driving.• Call local banks to see if they offer free or low-cost checking accounts. Ifyou are charged for ATM withdrawals, look for a bank without fees—ormake withdrawals at your bank’s ATMs.• Consider buying quality, second-hand goods, such as cars, appliancesand clothing.• Instead of going away on vacation, take short day trips or camping tripsclose to home.• Buy generic prescription drugs or over-the-counter medications insteadof name brand drugs.Money Wi$e Manage Your Money Wisely Seminar Package page 8 of 27
