The <strong>Schwartz</strong> <strong>Family</strong> <strong>History</strong><strong>Anna</strong> Muller’s only child, Rudolph,married Minnie Mönighoff in 1884 andthey had six children, four of whomlived to adulthood. See the Rudolph<strong>Schwartz</strong> biography, Chapter One.49 year-old <strong>Anna</strong> was widowed in 1888when William, her husband of 28 years,died at age 57. <strong>Anna</strong> lived an additional18 years and died at age 66 on Feb 131906. She was buried three days later inWoodland Cemetery in Newark, NJ.<strong>Anna</strong>’s two infant grandsons and herhusband were also buried in the familyplot, purchased by her husband in 1867for $60.<strong>Anna</strong> <strong>Müller</strong> <strong>Schwartz</strong> photographed in herlater years in Newark, NJ.<strong>Anna</strong> and William’s only child wasborn 17 September 1863 in Newark,NJ, and baptized Rudolph Schwarz on11 August 1864 in Newark’s GermanEvangelical Protestant Church.<strong>Anna</strong>’s brother, grocer Peter <strong>Müller</strong>,married Maria Fandree on 20November 1861 in Newark. Witnessesto the marriage were <strong>Anna</strong>’s husband,William <strong>Schwartz</strong>, and <strong>Anna</strong>’s sister,Louisa <strong>Müller</strong>. Peter and Maria had sixchildren from 1862 to 1879. Morechildren may have been born later.Peter’s descendants later changed thefamily name to Miller.<strong>Anna</strong>’s sister, Louisa, married LudwigDilly in Newark on 16 November 1862.Louisa and Ludwig’s four childrenwere born between 1864 and 1874.According to her death certificate, <strong>Anna</strong>was ill for five days before her death,which was caused by a strangulatedfemoral hernia.Shortly after <strong>Anna</strong>’s death, sonRudolph <strong>Schwartz</strong> moved his familyto California.SCHWARTZ – On Tuesday, February 13, 1906,<strong>Anna</strong> M., widow of William <strong>Schwartz</strong> (neeMuller), aged 66 years 9 months 9 days. Relativesand friends are most respectfully invitedto attend the funeral from the residence ofher son, Mr. Rudolph <strong>Schwartz</strong>, No. 50 HunterdonStreet, on Friday, February 16, at 9:30A. M.
