Semesters & TermsCredit classes are scheduled on a semester basis. Fall classes begin in mid-August and conclude in December. Springclasses resume in mid-January and continue through mid-May. One six-week term will be held in the summer in June andJuly. Some specialized classes in computer science, business and other areas are offered during special periods.Evening ClassesIn addition to day classes, <strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong> provides equivalent college credit courses during the evenings,Monday through Thursday. The evening academic courses are taught by college staff and contain the same material asthe regular day sessions, as approved in institutional syllabi. Students may elect to enroll in day classes, evening classes,or a combination of classes. The bookstore remains open in the evening, during main registration as well as the first twoweeks of a fall or spring semester Monday through Thursday. Security is available any time classes are in session.Regular Enrollment<strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong> is committed to providing access to educational opportunities for all citizens. Studentsmay enroll in as little as one credit hour or as many as 18 without administrative approval.Earning <strong>College</strong> Credit While in High School – Early <strong>College</strong> ProgramStudents currently enrolled in high school may enroll in college level work at <strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong>. High schoolstudents must obtain approval from their principal or counselor and meet certain eligibility requirements. Students availingthemselves of this legislative approved option can accrue a significant number of college credits prior to their graduationfrom high school.Modest Cost<strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong>’s tuition costs are among the most affordable in the tri-state region and are significantlyless than those at four-year institutions.Per Credit HourIn-County Residents* $62Out-of-County Residents** $72Out-of-State $122International $122Tuition/Technology Fees are assessed to a maximum of 18 credit hours each semester. The parking areas are clearly marked for general parking, handicappedparking, and visitor parking. During the evening hours, parking areas are well lighted and patrolled by college securitypersonnel.Governance<strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong> is governed by a nine member Board of Trustees appointed by the Governor (see page3).FacultyThe <strong>Arkansas</strong> <strong>Northeastern</strong> <strong>College</strong> faculty is committed to quality instruction and personal attention to students. Thenormal teaching load is 15 credit hours per semester. Classes seldom have more than 25 students. Faculty keep abreastof educational and technological changes through attendance at conferences, seminars, and visits to other highereducation institutions.6
