His particularclinical interests include breastreconstruction, aesthetic breastsurgery, melanoma, microsurgery,tissue expansion <strong>and</strong> hypospadias.He is a graduate <strong>of</strong> SouthamptonUniversity <strong>and</strong> trained in General<strong>Surgery</strong> in Plymouth <strong>and</strong> Cardiff. Hisplastic surgery training took place inthe West Midl<strong>and</strong>s <strong>and</strong> Yorkshire. Hisresearch has been in wound healing,adverse scars, implant capsules,microsurgery <strong>and</strong> tissue expansion.He has been a consultant at Oxfordsince 1992. Oxford has developedinto a large Unit with a broad range <strong>of</strong>services including crani<strong>of</strong>acial, clefts,breast reconstruction, upper limb,sarcoma, bone infection, skin cancer,<strong>and</strong> limb reconstruction. A succession<strong>of</strong> Australian fellows has always beenactively encouraged.Dr Coleman’s breast reconstructionservice <strong>of</strong>fers all types <strong>of</strong>reconstruction tailored to the patientincluding microsurgical lowerabdominal flaps <strong>of</strong> various types,autologous latissimus dorsi flaps,lip<strong>of</strong>illing etc. He has developedparticular experience in excision <strong>of</strong>giant congenital naevi in childrenusing tissue expansion. Dr. med. habil.GermanyBK Rank SpeakerPr<strong>of</strong>essor WolfgangGubisch was awardedhis doctorate (PhD) in1972 after studyingmedicine in Stuttgart<strong>and</strong> Tübingen(Germany) <strong>and</strong> Zürich(Switzerl<strong>and</strong>) as part <strong>of</strong> a scholarship<strong>of</strong> the “Studienstiftung des DeutschenVolkes” (German Study Foundation forHighly Talented Students).Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Gubisch has been workingin the field <strong>of</strong> plastic surgery since1974 with a focus on facial surgery.He became Head <strong>of</strong> the Clinic for<strong>Plastic</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> at the Marienhospitalin Stuttgart in 1988 <strong>and</strong> wasappointed to an APL pr<strong>of</strong>essorshipin August 1999 after his habilitationat the University <strong>of</strong> Würzburg in1992. He then became Head <strong>of</strong> theClinic for <strong>Plastic</strong> Facial <strong>Surgery</strong> witha focus on aesthetic, functional <strong>and</strong>reconstructive nasal surgery in 2001.He is a member <strong>of</strong> many national<strong>and</strong> international societies <strong>of</strong> plasticsurgery as well as an honorarymember <strong>of</strong> the British <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong>Aesthetic <strong>Plastic</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> (BAAPS),the Australian Society <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plastic</strong><strong>Surgeons</strong> (ASPS), the Armenian<strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plastic</strong> <strong>Reconstructive</strong><strong>and</strong> Aesthetic <strong>Surgeons</strong> (AAPRAS),<strong>and</strong> the <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plastic</strong> <strong>and</strong><strong>Reconstructive</strong> <strong>Surgeons</strong> <strong>of</strong> SouthernAfrica (APRSSA). He also holds thegold medal <strong>of</strong> the All India RhinologySociety for special achievements inrhinosurgery.Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Gubisch has been theChairman <strong>of</strong> the German Society <strong>of</strong><strong>Plastic</strong>, <strong>Reconstructive</strong> <strong>and</strong> Aesthetic<strong>Surgeons</strong> for Baden Württemberg(DGPRÄC) since 2008, is a member <strong>of</strong>the Board <strong>of</strong> Directors <strong>of</strong> the GermanSociety <strong>of</strong> <strong>Plastic</strong>, <strong>Reconstructive</strong> <strong>and</strong>Aesthetic <strong>Surgeons</strong> (DGPRÄC), <strong>and</strong>after having been Vice President <strong>of</strong>the <strong>Association</strong> <strong>of</strong> German Aesthetic<strong>Plastic</strong> <strong>Surgeons</strong> (VDÄPC) for 3 years,was appointed President in 2010.Pr<strong>of</strong>essor Gubisch regularly givestraining courses in aesthetic <strong>and</strong>functional rhinoplasty all over theworld <strong>and</strong> demonstrates his surgicaltechniques. He has written more than170 scientific publications <strong>and</strong> hasproduced five educational films.Phil HaeckBS, MDUSASponsored byAustralia’s Leading MDODr Haeck attendedMichigan StateUniversity, USA,obtaining his BS in1974 <strong>and</strong> his MDin 1980. He did hisinternship in 1980 atSwedish Hospital in Seattle where hefinished General Surgical training.Dr Haeck then trained in<strong>Reconstructive</strong> <strong>and</strong> H<strong>and</strong> <strong>Surgery</strong> withFrank Gerow, the true inventor <strong>of</strong> thesilicone implant at Bayer in Houston,Texas, where he stayed until 1986before moving back to Seattle <strong>and</strong>establishing his private practice.
