His particularclinical interests include breastreconstruction, aesthetic breastsurgery, melanoma, microsurgery,tissue expansion and hypospadias.He is a graduate of SouthamptonUniversity and trained in GeneralSurgery in Plymouth and Cardiff. Hisplastic surgery training took place inthe West Midlands and Yorkshire. Hisresearch has been in wound healing,adverse scars, implant capsules,microsurgery and tissue expansion.He has been a consultant at Oxfordsince 1992. Oxford has developedinto a large Unit with a broad range ofservices including craniofacial, clefts,breast reconstruction, upper limb,sarcoma, bone infection, skin cancer,and limb reconstruction. A successionof Australian fellows has always beenactively encouraged.Dr Coleman’s breast reconstructionservice offers all types ofreconstruction tailored to the patientincluding microsurgical lowerabdominal flaps of various types,autologous latissimus dorsi flaps,lipofilling etc. He has developedparticular experience in excision ofgiant congenital naevi in childrenusing tissue expansion. In the UKplastic surgeons are still involvedin hypospadias repair, and DavidColeman will be presenting an updateon what every trainee needs to knowabout the treatment of this condition.Wolfgang GubischProf. Dr. med. Dr. med. habil.GermanyBK Rank SpeakerProfessor WolfgangGubisch was awardedhis doctorate (PhD) in1972 after studyingmedicine in Stuttgartand Tübingen(Germany) and Zürich(Switzerland) as part of a scholarshipof the “Studienstiftung des DeutschenVolkes” (German Study Foundation forHighly Talented Students).Professor Gubisch has been workingin the field of plastic surgery since1974 with a focus on facial surgery.He became Head of the Clinic forPlastic Surgery at the Marienhospitalin Stuttgart in 1988 and wasappointed to an APL professorshipin August 1999 after his habilitationat the University of Würzburg in1992. He then became Head of theClinic for Plastic Facial Surgery witha focus on aesthetic, functional andreconstructive nasal surgery in 2001.He is a member of many nationaland international societies of plasticsurgery as well as an honorarymember of the British Association ofAesthetic Plastic Surgery (BAAPS),the Australian Society of PlasticSurgeons (ASPS), the ArmenianAssociation of Plastic Reconstructiveand Aesthetic Surgeons (AAPRAS),and the Association of Plastic andReconstructive Surgeons of SouthernAfrica (APRSSA). He also holds thegold medal of the All India RhinologySociety for special achievements inrhinosurgery.Professor Gubisch has been theChairman of the German Society ofPlastic, Reconstructive and AestheticSurgeons for Baden Württemberg(DGPRÄC) since 2008, is a member ofthe Board of Directors of the GermanSociety of Plastic, Reconstructive andAesthetic Surgeons (DGPRÄC), andafter having been Vice President ofthe Association of German AestheticPlastic Surgeons (VDÄPC) for 3 years,was appointed President in 2010.Professor Gubisch regularly givestraining courses in aesthetic andfunctional rhinoplasty all over theworld and demonstrates his surgicaltechniques. He has written more than170 scientific publications and hasproduced five educational films.Phil HaeckBS, MDUSASponsored byAustralia’s Leading MDODr Haeck attendedMichigan StateUniversity, USA,obtaining his BS in1974 and his MDin 1980. He did hisinternship in 1980 atSwedish Hospital in Seattle where hefinished General Surgical training.Dr Haeck then trained inReconstructive and Hand Surgery withFrank Gerow, the true inventor of thesilicone implant at Bayer in Houston,Texas, where he stayed until 1986before moving back to Seattle andestablishing his private practice.
