It provides improved application robustness, extended recoat,and improved weather<strong>in</strong>g over the standard polyaspartic coat<strong>in</strong>gs on the market today.What do we mean by application robustness? We mean dramatic improvements <strong>in</strong> thefollow<strong>in</strong>g areas: improved consistency of cure across a large environmental applicationrange, extended re-coat, 1:1 by volume mix ratios, and rapid re-coat of multi-layeredcoat<strong>in</strong>g systems with improved adhesion characteristics.The second improvement <strong>in</strong> coat<strong>in</strong>gs targeted to the corrosion protection market relates tomoisture cure urethanes (MCUs). MCUs have been widely used <strong>in</strong> such applications forover 30 years <strong>in</strong> the northeast and northwest regions of the United States. Historically,applicators found MCU topcoats difficult to apply due to its 2-4 mils dry film thicknessrequirement. In complex structures, this requirement could lead to putt<strong>in</strong>g the topcoat ontoo thick, result<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> blister<strong>in</strong>g problems. Applicators will now f<strong>in</strong>d MCU topcoatseasier to apply.
