Among its attractions will be a cafe and exhibition rooms in which some<strong>of</strong> the Bodleian’s most prized items will be put on display to the public, including thedraft manuscript <strong>of</strong> Jane Austen’s unfinished novel bought recently for more than £1m.Building starts on Mathematics InstituteConstruction <strong>of</strong> the Mathematical Institute on the Radcliffe Observatory Quartercommenced last month after a ground-breaking ceremony on 2 August.Senior members <strong>of</strong> <strong>Oxford</strong> <strong>University</strong>, benefactors and representatives from the localcommunity attended the ceremony.<strong>Oxford</strong>’s Access Agreement approved<strong>Oxford</strong> <strong>University</strong>’s Access Agreement has been approved by the Office for Fair Access (OFFA). <strong>Oxford</strong> willspend more <strong>of</strong> its additional fee income on access and financial support than any other university in England –nearly double the sector average at 50%. OFFA ranks <strong>Oxford</strong> as costing students less than nearly two thirds <strong>of</strong>all English universities.
