They are primarily management level employeeswho are responsible to ‘stay until the job is done.’They do not have the same evenings free everyweek. In view of this I devised a visitation/soulwinning program that would provide flexibility withaccountability. Below is an outline of the program:1. I appointed the deacons as “team” leaders.2. A meeting was held for all who were interested inthe program. All who attended were divided intoteams with a Deacon as the leader.3. My secretary prints out the calling cards anddistributes them to the team leaders. The teamleaders distribute the cards to their team members.The calling cards are geographically coordinatedwith the team members. The team members receivecalls as close to their residence as possible. Theseprospects are provided by a local Civic Newcomerorganization.4. Upon making the calls, team members completethe comment portion of their calling card and returnit to their team leader. The team leaders return thecards to my secretary and then I receive them andfollow up.This program came about as a result of seeing alack of participation in our ‘weekly’ scheduledvisitation. It has provided the flexibility that wasneeded and the results are fantastic.Visitation MealTo encourage the people to come out on visitation and tohelp facilitate this, some churches have found that it ishelpful to provide a meal for the soul winners.This way it is possible for people to come to church rightfrom work, and they do not have to worry about goinghome, eating supper, etc.
