He also became the 25th playerin <strong>Judson</strong> history to score over 1,000 career points inthe first half. He is the third player this season to reach1,000 career points and the fourth overall on the team.Both Dewayne Robinson and Joe Gonnam hit 1,000points this season while Justen Boyd hit the 1,000 pointmark last season. OatesJoe Gonnam also had a career-high in rebounding with15 and added eight points. Ilija Bojanic collected 15points, Steffan Williams 13 points, and Robinson led allscorers with 27 points. Marcellus Phelps led Calumetwith 15 points.<strong>Judson</strong> finished shooting 41% on the game and made73% of their free throws. CC made 40% from the floorand 69% from the stripe. JU out rebounded CC, 47-40,and forced 10 turnovers while blocking five shots.w o r s t t o f i r s tBy winning the regular season <strong>champ</strong>ionship, <strong>Judson</strong>completed a worst-to-first turnaround in one season.Last year, JU finished 6-23 overall and were 1-9 in theCCAC. JU opened the 2007-<strong>08</strong> CCAC season with a 7-0record and completed the first-round of play undefeated.Last year, JU only defeated Calumet College for theirlone CCAC win.w h a t a l i n e u pThis season, <strong>Judson</strong> has four players that have allrecorded 1,000 career points. Three of the playershave been at <strong>Judson</strong> for four years in Justen Boyd, JoeGonnam, and Chris Oates. Dewayne Robinson hasplayed just a year and a half and has picked up 1,000points. Boyd and Robinson sit at 12th and 13th overallon the all-time scoring list while Gonnam and Oatesare 24th and 25th.h o m e s w e e t h o m eOverall, <strong>Judson</strong> has a 12-2 record this season at theLIndner Fitness Center. They are currently on an 8-game win streak at home. Their last loss at home cameon December 19th against St. Francis (IL), 91-79.s e t t i n g r e c o r d sEarlier this season, <strong>Judson</strong> set a new school recordfor consecutive wins. They won seven games in a rowstarting on January 9th vs. Purdue-North Central andwinning all the way through February 2nd. The streakentailed the entire first half ot the CCAC schedule andone game into the second half of the schedule. CardinalStritch ended JU’s seven-game win streak on February7th, in Milwaukee, 100-97, in double overtime. JU thenlost their next game vs. Purdue-Calumet before reboundingwith five straight wins.c c a c p l a y e r o f t h e y e a rJunior Dewayne Robinson has shown just how valuablehe is to the team and the CCAC. This past week, he washonored as the CCAC Player of the Year for his performance.He has led the CCAC in scoring all season andbeen named the CCAC Player of the Week three times. Heis third in steals, fourth in field goal percentage and assists,fifth in rebounding, and 10th in free throw percentage. Hehas hit many clutch shots all season. One of the biggestcame vs. Calumet in the second half with less than fourminutes to play. He hit a three-pointer as the shot clockexpired to give JU a one-point lead that started a 12-2 runto end the game for the win. He is currently 12th in thenation for scoring in the NAIA at 20.8 points per game.n a t i o n a l p o l lThree times this season <strong>Judson</strong> has been in the nationalpoll receiving votes. After being in the poll two weeks in arow at the end of January, they fell out due to two consectivelosses. With their win last week over Trinity Christian,who was receiving votes, JU has now jumped back intothe national poll with eight votes. The most they had thisseason was 26 votes at the end of January.n c c a a n a t i o n a l p l a y e r s<strong>Judson</strong> has had two players named the NCCAA Nationalplayer of the Week, this season. The National CollegiateChristian Athletic Association has named both Ilija Bojanicand Justen Boyd as NCCAA “Players of the Week.” <strong>Judson</strong>is part of the NCCAA as a Christian university.l e a d i n g t h e c c a c<strong>Judson</strong> is leading the CCAC in a few categories. Theyhave the top offense averaging 82.6 points per game andthe best scoring margin at +6.6. They also lead in fieldgoal percentage (48.6%), assist/turnover ration, turnovermargin and steals and are second in blocked shots andassists.Dewayne Robinson leads the CCAC in scoring and JustenBoyd leads in assists.
