President’s MessagePONTIACS of CENTRAL CALIFORNIAApril 2012 NEWSLETTERPresident’s MessageWell, we are on our way home from Phoenix andSedona, AZ. Several thousand RV’s were at theGood Sam Rally held at the PhoenixInternational Raceway, Thursday throughSunday. We won a $100 fuel card and newAmazon Kindle Fire, so I guess we did well.In Sedona, we went on two separate tours in (getthis) PINK jeeps. Mary Kay and Pepto Bismolwould have been so proud. Tuesday we went tosome pueblo ruins and Wednesday we went onthe “Broken Arrow Trail” which is where muchof the movie Broken Arrow made back in the50’s was made. Awesome! They took us rockcrawling in these PINK jeeps on trails I wouldn’thave taken my log truck on. Back in the day, Itook my log truck into places where I wouldn’ttake my rock crawler jeep. Well, I have toadmit my jeep wasn’t PINK. All said and done Iwould recommend anyone going to or throughSedona, AZ., take the Broken Arrow Tour withthe “PINK JEEPS”. (Advance reservations arerecommended.)On another note, I took my lift gate frame for myNomad to Meclec metal finishing to be chromeda month and a half ago. The man there told mehe would start it the following week and twoweeks later I stopped by to see how it was going. He then told me he would have it worked on thefollowing week. The next week I called themAnd they told me it was in plating. Thefollowing week, right before we were to leave onour Arizona trip, Meclec called to tell me thatthere was too much repair to do on it and theydid not want to deal with it. What went on whenI picked it up is not suitable for publication.Long story a little bit shorter, I took the frame toNew Age Plating and Mike there told me yes, there was a lot of repair to make it right, but surethey could do it and I should have it in threeweeks. We shall see.The Central Valley Classic Car Show is justaround the corner and I’m sure Carl and the crewhas it all under control. In cleaning out ourgarage we found items won at past raffles andnever used. We plan on donating these still newin box items for our raffle at the show.Hopefully, other members will be able to donateunused treasures they have saved for such aspecial occasion.Happy trails.KeithKEITH WATTS, POCC PRESIDENT
