Section 4: Good Character RequirementThis section applies to<strong>the</strong> child applicant if <strong>the</strong>y are aged 10and over. You need togive information which willhelp <strong>the</strong> <strong>Home</strong> Secretary todecide whe<strong>the</strong>r he can be satisfied that <strong>the</strong>y are of good character. Checks will bemade with <strong>the</strong> police and possibly o<strong>the</strong>r Government Departments, <strong>the</strong> Security Service and o<strong>the</strong>r agencies.4.1 Child’s occupation/job if any? Ifyou fail to answer all of <strong>the</strong>se questions as fully and accurately as possible, <strong>the</strong> application may berefused.It is an offence under Section 46(1) of <strong>the</strong> British Nationality Act 1981 to make astatement or representation whichis known tobefalse or is not believed to be true.
