CHRONOLOGY • liii21–25 September: General Pervez Musharraf arrived in New York toattend the 56th Annual Meeting <strong>of</strong> the United Nations General Assembly.During his visit, President Musharraf met with President Bush. 30September: Prime Minister Zafarullah Khan Jamali arrived in NewYork on a 10-day visit to the United States. 11 October: <strong>Pakistan</strong> continuedto sign agreements with its donor nations to reschedule the debtsit owed. An agreement was signed with South Korea to reschedule $500million <strong>of</strong> debt. 18 October: Saudi Arabia’s Crown Prince AbdullahBin Abdul Aziz visited <strong>Pakistan</strong> and announced an increase in assistance.22 October: Indian Foreign Minister Yashwant Singh announceda proposal to revive stalled efforts to normalize relations with <strong>Pakistan</strong>.1–4 November: President Pervez Musharraf visited China and concludeda number <strong>of</strong> agreements with the country on control <strong>of</strong> terrorism,increased trade, and greater economic cooperation between the twocountries. 14 and 25 December: <strong>Pakistan</strong> President Musharraf survivedtwo attempted assassinations near Islamabad.
