EXTRA - FLUGZEUGBAU GmbHSERVICE MANUAL EXTRA 30057-00-00 GENERALThe wing consists of a one-piece, dual chamber main sparwith carbon fibre roving caps and carbon fibre webs. Forthe spar core PVC foam is used. The wing shells are ahoneycomb sandwich construction with carbon fibre laminates.To prevent buckling of the shells, plywood ribs areused.The layer sequence of the wing is shown in Figure 1.All composite parts, as protection against moisture and UVradiation, are coated with an unsaturated polyester gelcoat,an acrylic filler and finally with an acrylic paint.For repair of composite parts refer to Chapter 51.PAGE DATE: 31.
