BOP-L offers smart dispensingtechniques.The BOP-L family of advanced countermeasuresdispensers offers superior systemintegration and levels of protection for helicoptersand transport aircraft.Flexible configuration, low weight in conjunctionwith high performance makes BOP-L the preferred choice in new and retrofitinstallations.Design patent pending.BOP-L Dispenser System DescriptionThe BOP-L dispensers are controlled via afully integrated Chaff and Flare DispenserController PCB that resides in an ElectronicWarfare Controller (EWC). This allows forautomatic dispensing under the control ofthe EWC upon threat identification. Semi-automaticand manual firing capability is alsoprovided.User-defined dispensing techniques are selectedby the EWC per identified threat. Thedispensing techniques can be defined in theThreat Library for the EWC and uploaded tothe system on the flight-line.System Functional DescriptionAutomatic, Semi-Automatic, Manual,Standby or Back-Up modes are selected viathe Control Panel.Safety interlock signals must be provided tothe EWC and the dispensers to enable dispensing.The status of the safety interlocks arecontinuously monitored by the system.Optimal dispense programs are selected,initiated and controlled by the EWC in Automaticmode.Once a dispensing program has been selected,the EWC calculates the most suitabledispenser (based on aircraft dynamics andthreat direction) to perform the dispensesequence.Dispense parameters are sent to the dispenserand activated by a discrete dispense signal.The jettison of all payloads is possible in allmodes of operation under emergency conditions.
