Directions: The purpose of this project is to give you the opportunity to introduce a new product into<br />
the <strong>School</strong> <strong>Store</strong>. As a team, you must complete the following:<br />
I. Determine The Product<br />
A. Describe the item you wish to introduce.<br />
B. What are the features and benefits of this product?<br />
C. Evaluate the product of the following characteristics:<br />
1. Suitable for the <strong>School</strong> <strong>Store</strong>?<br />
2. To what group does the product appeal (target market)?<br />
3. Does it stand up well/wear well?<br />
4. Unique/not a duplicate?<br />
5. Is the retail price within the range of the target market?<br />
6. Is it a good value?<br />
7. Will it provide a satisfactory profit?<br />
8. Is the item properly packaged?<br />
D. What type of product is it? (impulse, or commodity)<br />
E. List the reasons why you think the product would be successful.<br />
F. List the reasons why you think that the product might not be successful.<br />
II. Determine The Supplier<br />
A. List the possible suppliers from which to choose.<br />
B. List the prices for the product from each of these suppliers.<br />
C. Choose a supplier and list the phone number, address, and FAX number of the<br />
supplier.<br />
III. Implement Introduction Of Product<br />
A. Inform class members.<br />
B. Handle training of worker on product.<br />
C. Complete receiving, checking, and marking product upon arrival.<br />
IV. Evaluate performance of product using above categories and make recommendation for the future<br />
sales of the product.<br />
