July 46Both aircraft packed at No. 76 MU Wroughton, Wilts for preservationand stored at the German <strong>Air</strong>force Equipment Centre at Stanmore Park byDecember 1946 (PRO AIR 20/6289).1950 From No.5 MU to No.39 MU Colerne, Wilts for refurbishing prior toplanned RAF display at Farnborough, Hants in July 1950. Therefurbishment planned at Kemble had not occurred.Fabric damaged and many parts missing by this time including the enginecowlings, propeller, bracing wires and interplane struts. A replacementClerget was temporarily provided by the Nash collection. Other partswere made at Colerne.An inaccurate replica cowling was fitted, replacement flying wires werecut-down Tiger Moth units; the propeller was a 1929 Armstrong-SiddeleyLynx unit; struts were carved from builders' planks, and the wings werefixed using rifle cleaning rods - see letter from R F J Early, <strong>Air</strong> PictorialJul 57, p.250.Given treaded motorcycle tyres and Marske No.94 repainted in blackbeneath each wing.
