Produce less moisture■ Hang washing outside to dry if at allpossible, or hang in the bathroom with thedoor closed and a window slightly open orextractor fan on. Don’t be tempted to puton radiators or in front of a radiant heater.■ Always cook with pan lids on, and turn theheat down once the water has boiled. Onlyuse the minimum amount of water forcooking vegetables.■ Using lids will also save on gas andelectricity.■ When filling the bath, run the cold waterfirst then add the hot - it will reduce thesteam by 90%.■ If you use a tumble drier, make sure it isvented to the outside or that it is acondensing type.■ Don’t use the gas cooker to heat thekitchen as it produces moisture whenburning gas.■ Try to avoid the use of bottled gas heaters -they produce about 8 pints of moisture froman average-sized gas cylinder. (TenancyAgreements may not allow the use of thistype of heater).5
