should be less than 36 years of age. This committee will be appointed and supervised by the Board of Direction.<br />

5. The Scholarship Committee shall consist of three (3) members of The <strong>Post</strong> and shall be appointed by the Board of<br />

Direction. This committee is responsible for contacting annually colleges and universities located within the geographical<br />

boundaries of The <strong>Post</strong> for (1) qualified candidates for scholarship consideration, and (2) consideration in establishing <strong>Post</strong><br />

sponsored ROTC programs. Recommendations, as requested, will be submitted to the President through the Board of<br />

Direction for consideration. Scholarship recipients (or their representative) are requested to appear in person at a <strong>Post</strong><br />

function to receive their awards.<br />

6. The Sustaining Membership Committee shall consist of two (2) members of The <strong>Post</strong> and shall be appointed by the Board<br />

of Direction. At least one (1) member of the committee shall be chosen from sustaining agencies. They shall act on behalf of<br />

The <strong>Post</strong>, as sponsoring agency coordinators.<br />

7. The Auditing Committee shall consist of three (3) members of The <strong>Post</strong> and shall be appointed and supervised by the<br />

Board of Direction. This committee is responsible for auditing The <strong>Post</strong>'s accounts at least 30 days prior to the submission of<br />

the Annual Report to The <strong>Post</strong>. Results of the audit will be reported to The <strong>Post</strong> annually, at the May general meeting.<br />

ARTICLE IV<br />

Finances<br />

1. The annual dues of the members, which shall entitle them to all privileges of The <strong>Post</strong> except as otherwise provided<br />

herein, shall be fixed annually by a majority vote of The <strong>Post</strong> Board of Direction.<br />

2. Any member not in arrears may become a Life Member of The <strong>Post</strong>, provided that membership to The Society is<br />

maintained. This status excuses the payment of further <strong>Post</strong> dues. The cost of life membership shall be established by the<br />

Board.<br />

ARTICLE V<br />

Meetings and Elections<br />

1. The meetings of The <strong>Post</strong> shall be in accordance with the program presented by the Program Committee and adopted by<br />

The Board, and shall be in general once a month.<br />

2. The election of officers and Directors shall be held at the regular May meeting or as selected by the Board.<br />

3. Each officer and Director will be elected by a majority vote of all voting members of The <strong>Post</strong> present at the election<br />

meeting.<br />

4. The terms of all officers and Directors shall begin upon the adjournment of the meeting at which such officers are elected.<br />

ARTICLE VI<br />

Amendments<br />

Amendments to these By-Laws may be made by a vote of two-thirds of the voting members present and voting in person at<br />

any regular meeting; provided that the proposed amendment has been presented in writing for consideration to each member<br />

of The <strong>Post</strong> at least one (1) week prior to the meeting along with an announcement of the date, time, and place of the<br />

meeting; provided further that the amendment is approved by The Society.<br />

ARTICLE VII<br />

Dissolution<br />

Upon dissolution of this organization, all assets will be forwarded to the National Headquarters of the Society for inclusion into<br />

the Society's general fund.<br />
