Whensuch materials get out of their containers in anuncontrolled way, hazardous materials emergenciescan result, which can result in property loss,environmental damage, injury, and death. There isalso concern for terrorism aimed at facilities thathandle hazardous materials. To the extent we knowhow to respond to such emergencies in a safe andeffective manner, we can minimize the problemsresulting from such releases.
