Assessment of Module PICM201Assessment is an <strong>in</strong>tegral part of learn<strong>in</strong>g <strong>and</strong> teach<strong>in</strong>g <strong>in</strong> OBE. All assessment for module PICM201 isimplemented accord<strong>in</strong>g to the requirements of the Revised National Curriculum Statement <strong>and</strong> <strong>in</strong>cludesoutcomes-based assessment pr<strong>in</strong>ciples.The f<strong>in</strong>al assessment comprises 50% formative cont<strong>in</strong>uous assessment <strong>and</strong> 50% summative assessment,which is a formal exam<strong>in</strong>ation at the end of the semester.Formative assessment <strong>in</strong>cludes tests, tasks, <strong>and</strong> assignments <strong>and</strong> also <strong>in</strong>cludes your attendance <strong>and</strong>participation <strong>in</strong> class. It is expected that you attend 100% of lectures. Should you be unable to attend alecture, it is expected that you produce a doctor’s certificate or notification <strong>in</strong> writ<strong>in</strong>g, expla<strong>in</strong><strong>in</strong>g yourabsence from the lecture. You are study<strong>in</strong>g towards a professional degree <strong>and</strong> are therefore expected todisplay a professional attitude.In order to write the exam<strong>in</strong>ation at the end of the semester, you must have obta<strong>in</strong>ed a m<strong>in</strong>imum of 50% forcont<strong>in</strong>uous assessment.
