13-14 1000 Free and 11-12 500 FreeThe 13-14 1000 yd Free and the 11-12 500 yd Free will be swum as timed final events.All heats will be swum fast to slow. A combined women/men heat may be swum at thediscretion of the meet referee. Swimmers must provide their own timers and counters.13-14 400 IM and 13-14 500 FreeThe 13-14 400 yd IM and 13-14 500 yd Free will be swum as preliminary/final events with thefastest 4 (circle-seeded) heats swum slowest to fastest, followed by the remainder of the heats,swum fastest to slowest. A combined women/men heat may be swum at the discretion of themeet referee. Swimmers in the 500 Free must provide their own counters.13-14 1650 FreeThe 13-14 1650 yd Free will be swum as a timed final event. The fastest heat of women and thefastest heat of men will be swum in the Sunday finals session. There will be no AM/PMoption for this event. All other heats will be swum at the conclusion of the preliminaries,following relays. These heats will be swum fastest to slowest. A combined women/men heatmay be swum at the discretion of the meet referee. Swimmers in the morning session mustprovide their own timers and counters.Swimmers in the 11-12 500, 13-14 1000, and 1650 Frees (morning) must provide their owntimers and counters. AWARDS:- Individual events: 1 st 8th place medals- Relays: 1 st - 3 rd place medals- Team Place Awards: 1 st 6 th place- Individual High Point Awards will be presented to the male and female swimmers with thehighest point totals in individual events for each age group.There will not be an awards ceremony at evening finals for 11-12 & 13-14 Events.Awards for the 10 and Under will be at the end of the following event.ALL 10 & Unders will be announced at the blocks for each event.SCORING: - Individual events: 20-17-16-15-14-13-12-11- 9-7-6-5-4-3-2-1Swimmers must achieve the qualifying time standard or faster in each event to score.- Relay events: 40-34-32-30-28-26-24-22-18-14-12-10-8-6-4-2Only two relays per gender can score for each team.Team scores and individual high point scores will be published in the heat sheet at each finalssession.COACHES:OFFICIALS:There will be a coaches’ meeting at 4:30 pm on Thursday afternoon. Coaches areresponsible for any information presented at the meeting. Meetings may also be held at othertimes announced by the Meet Referee.All coaches and Officials on deck must wear their current USA swimming membership card in avisible place. Those failing to do so could be barred from the deck. Coaches and Officials willneed to show their credentials when checking in.There will be an officials’ meeting at 5:00 pm on Thursday afternoon and 1 hour prior to eachsession. We welcome all certified officials on deck. If you are able to help, please complete thesign-up form and let us know which session and position you would prefer to work.Starters/Referees that would like to be considered for an assigned deck position, pleasecomplete the form prior to February 9, 2012.Evaluations: This meet is an approved Officials Qualifying Meet for N2 at all positions and N3S&T by USA Swimming. Officials wishing to be evaluated may indicate so on the signup form.You can find more information about the requirements of National Certification on the USASwimming Site.SAFETY:RACING STARTS:SWIMMERS WITHDISABILITIES:The NCS Safety Program is in effect for this meet. Coaches are advised to closely supervisetheir swimmers at all times. Running and horseplay will not be allowed. As at any pool, thedeck may be slippery and caution should be taken to prevent accidents. NO blocking of fireexits, which includes doorways and passages. Coaches must display their coach certificationcards at all times when on the pool deck and must hold current certifications and registrationwith USA Swimming. No spectators will be allowed on deck.Any swimmer entered in the meet, unaccompanied by an USA Swimming member coach, mustbe certified by a USA Swimming member coach as being proficient in performing a racing startor must start each race from within the water. It is the responsibility of the swimmer or theswimmers legal guardian to ensure compliance with this requirement.GSA welcomes all swimmers with disabilities as described in the USA Swimming Rules andRegulations, Article 105, to participate in our meets. Coaches entering swimmers withdisabilities that require any accommodations are required to provide advance notice in writing tothe Meet Director by the entry deadline accompanying their meet entry file, including the needfor any personal assistants required and/or registered service animals. Failure to provideadvance notice may limit the GSAs ability to accommodate all requests.5
