Melissa Wood<br />
Melissa Wood, the daughter of Donna and<br />
Allen Wood and granddaughter of Nancy<br />
and Misty Bloomfield, graduated from<br />
Olympic College in December. She was a<br />
member of Phi Theta Kappa.<br />
She will be tranferring to The Evergreen<br />
State College this fall where she will<br />
be focusing on Early Childhood Education.<br />
She is currently employed at the<br />
<strong>Squaxin</strong> <strong>Island</strong> Child Development as a<br />
lead teacher in the four-year-old room.<br />

Diane Deyette<br />
Diane Deyette graduated from South Puget<br />
Sound Community College in August,<br />
2010 with an Associates in Science - Paralegal.<br />
She will continue her education at The<br />
Evergreen State College this fall.<br />
Diane is a Paralegal for the <strong>Squaxin</strong><br />
<strong>Island</strong> Legal department.<br />
She encourages other tribal members<br />
to take advantage of educational opportunities.<br />

Shiloh Henderson<br />
Hello, my name is Shiloh Henderson and<br />
I am 22 years old. I am the daughter of<br />
Michael and Theresa Henderson. In June,<br />
I am graduating from the University of<br />
Washington with my Bachelor’s degree<br />
in Psychology. This summer I will begin<br />
graduate school at the UW in the Teacher<br />
Education Program which focuses on social<br />
justice. Here, I will be earning my Master’s<br />
in Teaching, specifically in Elementary Education.<br />
In the next year, I hope to become<br />
a 3rd grade teacher and work with traditionally<br />
disadvantaged students.<br />

Ben Parker<br />
Benjamin Quanah Parker graduated from<br />
Dartmouth College in June with a Bachelor’s<br />
Degree in Applied Mathematics.<br />
Benjamin will be attending graduate<br />
school at (RIT) Rochester Institute of<br />
Technology in Rochester, New York this<br />
fall.<br />
Benjamin is the son of Bryan Glen<br />
Parker (<strong>Squaxin</strong> <strong>Island</strong>) and Jennifer De-<br />
Coteau (Turtle Mt. Chippewa-Cree).<br />
