The Science of Booking Your EventThe Reuben H. Fleet Science Center (the Fleet) is in high demand. We recommend that you secure a date as soon as youknow when your special event is going to take place. Next, plan your site visit by contacting our talented team in the SpecialEvents Department at (619) 685-5761 or via email at specialevents@rhfleet.org. Then let the planning begin! A special event isconsidered definite with a signed Reuben H. Fleet Science Center Facilities Use Agreement and a 50% deposit.Once the Fleet is reserved for your special event, you can begin the planning with your event manager. We provide support toensure professional execution of your special event. We will work with you to finalize all of your logistics, including catering,volunteer staffing, room diagrams, and scheduling a final walk-through. Payment of your remaining balance is due 30 days priorto your event. Exceptions do apply for late bookings.What the Fleet Has to OfferAlcoholic BeveragesThe Fleet has an agreement with BarWorks Catered BeverageServices as an exclusive beverage provider that must be contractedwith directly. Non-alcoholic beverages may be provided by yourselected caterer.Equipment and RentalsThe Fleet offers tables, chairs, linens, easels, staging, and a dancefloor. Additionally, each venue space comes equipped with state-ofthe-artaudiovisual equipment. For more advanced event productionneeds, please refer to our preferred vendor directory online atwww.rhfleet.org/visit/private-events/exclusive-caterers for contactinformation. Additional charges do apply.AvailabilityThe Fleet is available 365 days a year to host special events. Pleasecontact our talented team in the Special Events Department at(619) 685-5761 or via email at specialevents@rhfleet.org. They willcheck availability for specific dates and times and assist you in theplanning process.Courtesy Date HoldsYou may request a courtesy hold on a single special event date.Courtesy holds are good for one month. You have the first right ofrefusal if another client inquires about your desired date.Event StaffingThe Fleet’s Event Production Crew will be onsite the day of yourevent to assist the Special Event Manager with logistics within TheFleet. The Event Production Crew is available to set-up, tear down,move inventory, and assist contracted vendors during the event.Additionally, we have a team of Special Event Volunteers availableto assist with registration/check-in and greeting your guests. Theseservices are available to you at no extra charge!InvitationsInvitations or announcements must be approved by The Fleet’sSpecial Events Department prior to printing or distribution. Thisapproval process permits The Fleet to ensure the accuracy of theinformation being provided and the branding of our museum.Kitchen Facilities and UsageThe Fleet is equipped with a spacious catering kitchen that may beused by caterers from our catering list. Please refer to our exclusivecatering directory online at www.rhfleet.org/visit/private-events/exclusive-caterers for contact information.ParkingFree parking is available directly behind The Fleet. The Fleet doesnot own or operate the parking lots adjacent to the museum. Theparking lots are owned and operated by the City of San Diego. Youmay reserve parking spots by contacting the City of San Diego directlyto obtain a permit for these spots. Valet services are available by anoutside vendor for an additional charge.Preferred Vendors & Exclusive CaterersTo make sure your special event is a success, The Fleet has a list ofpreferred vendors and exclusive caterers for your use. Our team ofpreferred vendors and exclusive caterers are familiar with each venuespace and offer a complete range of services as showcased in thisbrochure.
