The former powersubstation for the line, now an office, is on <strong>Lawrence</strong>ville-Pennington Road.This portion of the former trolley line is about 1 mile in length.Part nature trail and part urban path, it cuts through residentialneighborhoods. The <strong>Lawrence</strong>ville School was founded in 1810 Thecentral portion of the campus, called The Circle, was planned in1883 and planted in 1886 by Frederick Law Olmsted, America’sforemost Landscape Architect and creator of New York’s CentralPark. His vision for the trees was a “complete collection of treesthat could be grown in Central New Jersey…to serve as a combinedLibrary and Museum of Botany and Dendrology.”
