::16 GENERAL CONFERENCEFIRST DAYAFTERNOON MEETING<strong>Conference</strong> reconvened promptly at 2 o'clock p. m. Sun<strong>day</strong>, April 3.Again the great Tabernacle auditorium and galleries were filled tocapacity with people who had assembled to listen to the <strong>Conference</strong> proceedings,and as was the case in the morning, the Assembly Hall wascrowded with people and thousands <strong>of</strong> others congregated upon the Tabernaclegrounds where, by means <strong>of</strong> amplifying equipment that had beeninstalled, they were able to listen to the <strong>Conference</strong> services.<strong>The</strong> Tabernacle Choir furnished the music for this session. As anopening number the congregation joined with the Choir in singing "Forthe Strength <strong>of</strong> the Hills we Bless <strong>The</strong>e."Elder Harvey Fletcher, President <strong>of</strong> the New York Stake, <strong>of</strong>feredthe invocation."Onward <strong>Christ</strong>ian.
