That is the Independency & Interdependency 3.0. This new managementsystem, which is reinforcing affiliates’ autonomous management and the function ofgroup-level committees, represents SK’s passion, reformation, and challenge to achievesustainable growth and stability. It also symbolizes SK’s will to continuously create greaterhappiness for all stakeholders as well as to achieve KRW 300 trillion of corporate value.Currently, what SK is facing is not so bright. Due to the expansion of global economicdownturn, both developed and developing countries are struggling economically. Furthermore,it is expected that Korea will experience hostile market environment such asexchange rate fluctuation, growth recession, and unstable prices. We are challenged to findnew growth drives in the global market and to maximize corporate values in order to createsustainable management outcomes in spite of this poor management environment.However, SK has potential. As our history over the past 60 years has proven, SK membersfaithfully fulfilled their roles and united their minds and capabilities as one to overcomedifficulties in times of crisis. Beyond overcoming difficulties, they always achieved greaterdevelopment and growth using crisis as stepping stones.Through the Independency & Interdependency 3.0 system, SK will establish an exemplarymanagement system and achieve yet another new growth.SK adopts and executes this evolved management system,basing on our belief that it is the right way to create greaterhappiness for all stakeholders.All SK members from home and abroad will do their best‘Independently’ in their positions with one mind with oneintention and create new corporate values ‘Interdependently’to provide greater happiness to all stakeholders. In addition,through systemic fostering of corporate enterprises and activesocial contributions, we will fulfill Corporate Social Responsibility(CSR) and concentrate all affiliates’ strengths and minds toencourage our growth partners to achieve results at home andabroad. First, SK will enhance each affiliate’sautonomous management. We will achieve a constant improvement of corporate capabilityand value by executing a mature autonomous management governed by board of directors,improving business performance, and promoting the development of management system.Then, we will reform SK group’s decision-making culture through the SUPEX Council. SKwill accomplish more effective and efficient group management by letting the SUPEX Counciland its affiliated committees make decisions that can maximize the value of the wholegroup, putting emphasis on affiliates’ interests.
