Regional & National Education DevelopmentThis past semester, our NCC has devised an educational approach to promotedelegate involvement on campus, in the region and in the nation. During our weeklyRHA General Assembly meeting we have asked delegates if they knew what the NCCposition does or what NCC stands for and no one replied. Emily, our NCC, explained thatshe works not only with UNK RHA, but with other RHAs in the region as a coordinator ofcommunication between the various institutions and their respected NCCs. Emilydescribed that in addition to executive board meetings, delegation meetings, one-ononeswith the advisor and regional NCC chats Emily also deals with the reading andwriting bids. After her brief description, she prepared a presentation of the UNK Schoolof the Year bid for the delegates to review.In the weeks to come Emily has prepared a map of the NACURH regions and will beginto teach delegates about the history of NACURH, Inc. She plans to use games and spiritpoints to spark their interest in learning about RHAs origin and what makes each regionunique. Topics that our NCC will include: regional mascots, regional conferences,national conferences, conference cheers, affiliated schools and countries thatparticipate in NACURH (there are five: USA, Canada, Mexico, Qatar, and Australia)!Through the Emily’s educational approach with our delegates we hope that they willunderstand that UNK RHA is a part of much more than just our campus.Fun Fact:NACURH is the largest student-run, non-profit organization in the world!!22
