On the otherhand, a quick movement will always trigger the escape responsefrom the fish.A final thought on visibility - Isn’t it time that someone told somerod manufacturers that waving a glossy coated rod at the river’sedge on a bright day is about as effective as flashing a mirroraround? Another person can see it from several hundred metresaway so the sharp eyed trout will be given plenty of warning aswell.
