WORKTOPSEllis offer two options to accommodate furniture running around a corner viz.See illustrations for your preferred optionHaving fitted the base units and plinths, you are now ready to fit your worktops on to the base units. It is stronglyrecommended that before worktops are fitted, all cut-outs are carried out to the manufacturers instructions. Please note if a mechanical jigsaw is to be used, this should be fitted with a downward cutting blade. All Ellis worktops may be supplied to the required size, sealed and edged on all sides.Any subsequent cuts will need to beRESEALED and edged to prevent ingress of water.FITTING BASINS: Ellis offer a basin cutting service based upon the manufacturers template being provided. Please note, within the normal manufacturing process, ceramic basins can vary slightly in size during firing. Consequently further slighttrimming may be necessary. If further cutting is required, the raw edges must be sealed with at least two coats of PVAsealant/Wood glue or similar. If the basin is to be cut out on site, a manufacturers template should be used. For an inset vanity type basin, only theworktop will need to be cut. For a semi-counter type basin, both the worktop and fascia panel will need cutting.Following the manufacturers instructions, place the template in the desired position and draw round it. Make the cuts usinga jigsaw or padsaw,APPLY SEALER TO ALL RAW EDGES.Apply a bead of silicone sealer around the joint between the basin and furniture to prevent ingress of water. Please note:Worktops cut for semi-counter top basins should always have the top scribed back approx. 15mm at an angleon either side of the front end of the cut-out, thereby allowing the bowl to sit snugly into the worktop and flush with thefascia. RAW EDGES MUST BE SEALED.MITRED CORNERSEllis offer a mitred corner cutting service on all worktops (see also corner base situations). If worktops are to be mitredon site, it is recommended a mason mitre join be used with the underside of the worktop routed out for worktop joiningbolts. The two raw edges should be sealed with waterproof wood adhesive for a longer lasting cleaner joint.FIXING PLINTHSContinuous plinths are clipped to the adjustable legs using the spring clips provided with the legs. Return plinths should befitted at right angles to the front plinth before clipping to the legs. (see also fitting w.c.)CORNICESEllis offer a pre-cut and mitred to size service on bull nose cornices (code CN01or CN03).These are sealed on all sides.CORNICE LIGHTSThe fitting of cornice lights should only be undertaken by a qualified electrician. Cornice lights are fixed in the desiredposition by drilling a 55mm hole through the cornice panels and clipping in the lights as directed.
