MERRY GO ABSEILMerry Go Round Toy Libraries are looking to raise much needed funds when they take part inan abseil from the 20 metre tower at the new Haven Banks Outdoor Education Centre onSaturday 13th July.The charity runs two toy libraries, Carousel at West Exe Children's Centre, and Merry GoRound at Exeter Scrapstore in Belmont Park. During sessions, children can try out toys,including inclusive and multicultural ones, before choosing some to take home. They have awide selection of good quality toys,games and resource books forchildren of all ages, and staff arehappy to offer help and advice aboutmeeting the needs of individualchildren. Members include families,grandparents, childminders andchildcare groups, all are welcome.In the current economic climate anyopportunity to raise money to enablethe libraries to stay in operation iswelcome, and therefore theopportunity to abseil the newclimbing tower was one not to bemissed.Run on a day-to-day basis by ExeterCollege, the New Haven BanksOutdoor Education Centre has beenbuilt and paid for by Devon CountyCouncil and is the biggest singlesum to be allocated from theproceeds of the sale of ExeterAirport.Haven Banks offers a variety of water and land-based outdoor and adventurous activityopportunities providing a contemporary hub for outdoor activities for young people and adultsfrom Exeter, Devon and across the region. The Centre offers an innovative approach to outdooreducation, training and recreation. Facilities include extensive changing rooms, training,conferencing & meeting rooms and equipment stores. Not to mention the new 22 metre iconic“Tower”, climbing wall enclosure and artificial cave system. There really is adventure availableto all.Merry Go Round Toy Libraries fund raisers will be carrying out their abseils between 11am and2pm.
