Tuesday 11th – Thursday 20th September 20129 NIGHTS FROM £849French Leave ExplorationDelight in a selection of contrasting European portsThere’s a certain ‘je ne sais quoi’ about this unusual cruise callingat four contrasting French ports with the chance to visit Bayonne,Bordeaux and the attractions of Brittany and Normandy. Add tothis the delights of the old Spanish town of Gijon and the uniqueAnglo-French charm of Guernsey.Gijón began as a fishing village nearly 3,000 years ago andSt Jean de Luztoday is an important port on the Atlantic coast of northern Spain. The historic fishing village known as Cimadevilla is located on a peninsula that divides the port in half. Most of thestreets are cobblestone and many of the buildings have been renovated. The region of Asturias surrounding Gijón isknown in Spain for its greenness and beauty. Visit historic Oviedo, the site of several medieval churches and elegantSancta Ovetens cathedral which contains the royal Asturian tombs. St Jean de Luz is a beautiful seaside resort andactive fishing port located on the Côte Basque in South West France. Enjoy this lively, cosmopolitan town whichboasts a medieval background. Aquitaine’s capital, Bordeaux is a thriving port city on the Garonne River withbeautiful 18th century mansions and architecture, including its Grand Theatre by architect Victor Louis. It is wellknown for its surrounding wine-growing region. Brest is the second largest town in Brittany and is sheltered by alarge natural harbour. This modern port is dominated by the French Naval Fleet and is rich in maritime history. We head back to Britain’s islands: dropping anchor off at St Mary’s in the Isles of Scilly, with a tour option toTresco’s Abbey Gardens. The cobbled streets and relaxed style of Guernsey’s picturesque main town St Peter Portintroduce you to the unique Channel Islands. Certainly more Anglo than French, but with enough ‘je ne sais quoi’ tomake you think otherwise. Guernsey has a captivating island history, wonderful beaches, miles of coastal walks andtax-free shopping for the less energetic! The pretty little town of Honfleur, at the mouth of the River Seine, makes aperfect finale to a spectacular cruise. The old harbour and marina are just delightful and the narrow streets andalleys of the old quarter are little changed since French medieval times. Claude Monet’s famous house and garden atGiverny is within reach and a very popular tour option. Then all too soon, Marco Polo heads back to Tilbury.© Flickr - dynamosquitoCruise ItineraryDay/Date Port1 – 11.9.12 London, Tilbury2 – 12.9.12 At Sea3 – 13.9.12 Gijon, Spain4 – 14.9.12 + St Jean de Luz5 – 15.9.12 Le Verdon for Bordeaux6 – 16.9.12 Brest7 – 17.9.12 + St Mary’s, Isle of Scilly8 – 18.9.12 + St Peter Port, Guernsey9 – 19.9.12 Honfleur, France10 – 20.9.12 London, Tilbury+ Passengers land by launch or tenderFares – per personCategory 1 – Standard Twin Inner £894.00Category 2 – Standard Plus Twin Inner £974.00Category 3 – Superior Twin Inner £1004.00Category 4 – Premium Twin Inner £1154.00Category 6 – Standard Twin Ocean View £1154.00Category 7 – Standard Twin Ocean View £1174.00Category 8 – Standard Plus Twin Ocean View £1224.00Category 9 – Superior Twin Ocean View £1344.00Category 11 – Superior Plus Twin Ocean View £1434.00Category 12 – Premium Twin Ocean View £1524.00*Plus £45.00 per person gratuities to be paid on board.BordeauxHOLIDAYS FROM YOUR DOORSTEP!Getting to the coach departure point has become easier thanks to Holidays from your Doorstep! We can arrange for a taxi to pick you up from home and take you to the departure point. On the return journey, a taxi will be waiting to whisk you away back home – it’s so convenient. The map below shows the charge for this service.Coach departure points:Leicester, Wigston, South Wigston, Blaby, Lutterworth, Rugby,Hinckley, Coalville, Market Harborough, Loughborough andMelton Mowbray. We will arrange your taxi to the nearest departure point that the coach willbe departing from.If your village or town doesn’t appear on the map, please contact us forpricing structures.£10 Leicester Zone£8 Wigston Zone£12 Outer Zone 1£19 Outer Zone 2£25 Outer Zone 3Please note:• These charges are for a return taxi service to your home per person.• You may be sharing your taxi with others in order to keep prices low.
