3Internship opportunitiesInternships are the perfect way to broaden your studyexperience and go beyond the theory learned in lectures.At Monash Law you can participate in internships at law firmsand government agencies around the world and have theoption of submitting written work for assessment based onyour experiences, as part of course completion.We have a wide selectionof internships availableincluding the UnitedNations in Geneva and toplaw firms in Hong Kong,London and Israel. You canalso work as a volunteerthrough the Law School’sCastan Centre for HumanRights Law.In 2013, Monash University’s Castan Centre awarded nine Global Internships to Monash law students whohad shown a strong and continuing interest in the study and practical application of human rights law.“My time at Monash has been a series of small adventures.Through the Monash Faculty of Law, I went to Vienna to argueagainst the best Universities in the world about commercialarbitration. I flew to Texas to help defend prisoners on deathrow and wrote a paper on jury tactics in death penalty cases.I travelled to New York to investigate campaign finance law insidethe Obama campaign.The Faculty partnered me with Monash academics who guidedmy research and gave me a rigorous one on one legal training.Monash always supported me financially and organised credittowards my degree.
