Fire danger is measured after consideration of wind,temperature, humidity and rainfall. Staff at <strong>Narmbool</strong>, in consultation with local CFAcrews and information provided by the Bureau of Meteorology, will decide whether tocontinue with the day’s activity based on information at hand.In the unlikely chance that the group is affected directly by fire,participants should –• Remain calm.• Beware of radiant heat and smoke.• Cover all exposed skin (try not to wear synthetic material if possible).• Avoid moving or driving around. Try to stay in one location.• Stay in an open area or an area with low fuel, such as already burnt ground.If you have to move –• Move out of the path of the front of the bushfire.• Move across slopes.• Move downhill – fire moves faster uphill.• Leave non-essential equipment behind.
