The creative journeyinto self is a strong aid to health <strong>and</strong> wellbe<strong>ing</strong>for the individual <strong>and</strong> to our culture.This journal exists for all those serious inexplor<strong>ing</strong> their creativity, in a chosenexpression. It is a forum for publication <strong>and</strong>exposure to other artists, both novice <strong>and</strong>established. Lisa will become a regularcontributor shar<strong>ing</strong> <strong>Creative</strong> byNature theories <strong>and</strong> exercises.As well, we’re start<strong>ing</strong> a new section,titled From the Memory Vault. It’s a placefor writers who wish to explore a memoryfrom childhood that is deeply embedded intheir psyche; a memory that outshinesothers for reasons we may or may notunderst<strong>and</strong>. The memory is often ordinary,not profound, yet it persists with usthrough the years, <strong>and</strong> especially into ourolder years.In this <strong>and</strong> the next two issues, Dr. DaliaGottlieb-Tanaka will share her research intocreative expression in the care of dementia.Spread<strong>ing</strong> awareness of emerg<strong>ing</strong> researchwill lead to a re-evaluation of creativeexpression <strong>and</strong> how to integrate it into ourlives. <strong>Creative</strong> age<strong>ing</strong> means find<strong>ing</strong> ourown special way to express who we are<strong>and</strong> what we think. The arts are not acommodity to be purchased, or a reservedstatus for a special few.
