Editor’s LetterPhoto courtesy of the folks at Infiniti.Time passing quickly is a sure sign that youare having fun. I can certainly attest to that!Since June, I have had the good fortune to notonly attend the Porsche Parade in TraverseCity, Michigan, but also spend a couple extradays in Michigan seeing some of the sights thatpart of the country has to offer. It was my firsttrip to Michigan. I had a marvelous time!Speaking of having a marvelous time, lastmonth I returned to the Monterey Bay Areafor the Legends of the Autobahn show, RolexMonterey Motorsports Reunion, and the PebbleBeach Concours d’ Elegance. More aboutthat later in this issue...As this is being written, the celebration forthe 100th Anniversary of the Corona GrandRace has not yet taken place. I have hopes ofhaving this posted before that event happens, but who knows, maybe there will be coverageof the event in this issue, or if not, look for it inthe Winter issue.Coming up the last Saturday in September,Riverside Region will again be hostingtheir Timeline at Lake Arrowhead. This is awonderful setting, they have cars arrangedin chronological order around the lake andthrough the Village. If you have never been to5the event, it is a lot of fun. The cost of registrationis reasonable, and you even get a T-shirt.It is a laid back low key gathering, and duringthe day you can shop in the Village, or take oneof the cruises on the lake.October will be a busy month as our Regionwill be co-hosting the Escape to Los Angeleswith Grand Prix Region. Registration is beinghandled through Motorsportsreg.com Priorto that, look for our tour to Big Bear Lake, andthe Glen Ellen area for apples.Another thing that happens in the fall is theelection of club officers. If you think that thecurrent board members are doing a fine job, thank you. If, however, you think it is time tosend them out to pasture and replace them, come to the next board meeting. Experienceis not necessarily necessary. Everyone hasto start somewhere...If you can not make theboard meetings, speak to any of the currentboard members about your proposed candidacy.New this fall, we will be hosting a GimmickRally, which sounds like it should be a lot offun. We will also be returning to Rancho dePhilo for another Sherry Tour.PCA will again be hosting Tech Tactics atthe Porsche training facility in Ontario. If youhave not been to one of these events before, they are a remarkable opportunity to find outbehind the scenes info about the latest Porschemodels. The event will be held November 23and 24 this year. In the past there have beenpeople from Porsche AG speaking about differentaspects of Porsches. We will be trying something different thisyear for the Holidays. Instead of having abrunch, as in years past, we will be having adinner at the Beckham Grill & Bar. We will alsobe having a silent auction, so if you have some itemsyou would like to donate, more information about thiswill follow at a later date. In the meantime, you canbegin saving your mad money to bid on the items!
