The2005-06 year was another banner season for the College, as itadded three more conference titles. The Tribe has now captured84 total CAA Championships since 1986, over 30 more than theclosest rival.Individually, women’s tennis standout Megan Moulton-Levy earned All-America honors after advancing to the “FinalFour” of the NCAA Singles Tournament.Academic ExcellenceThe Tribe’s athletic accomplishments do not come at theexpense of its student’s academic responsibilities, as W&Mranked fourth, the highest of any scholarship-granting schooland of any public university, in the nation among institutionswith two or more Division I teams when the NCAA released itsinaugural Academic Progress Rate scores in March of 2005.This year, the NCAA specifically listed 18 W&M athleticsquads as recipients of its public recognition award for 2005-06.Since 1992, 36 Tribe athletes have been designated AcademicAll-Americans, including Keith Bechtol, who was a thirdteam selection in the spring, and since 1996, 39 student-athleteshave been members of Phi Beta Kappa.In 2002-03, the CAA created a Scholar-Athlete of the YearAward in each of its 21 sports, and not surprisingly, Williamand Mary has set the pace with 18.In addition, www.TribeAthletics.comthree of William and Mary’s five Rhodes scholarsparticipated in varsity sports.2007 Media Guide21
