There’sso much rich history in them.I explained to him that, whenthe <strong>Diocese</strong> <strong>of</strong> <strong>Bridgeport</strong> wasfounded, this church, which wasin the oldest parish in FairfieldCounty, became the cathedral. St.Augustine is essentially a parishchurch that became a cathedral—and it’s still a parish church.He came here to celebrate the8:30 am Mass the Sunday afterhis installation. I was absolutelydelighted. It was a nice entranceto our International Feast. Iwas born and went to school in<strong>Bridgeport</strong>, and it was a pleasureto introduce him to a little <strong>of</strong> whatthe city and its people are about.He’s amiable, he’s approachable,he listens to people.
