Commissioner Huskey moved to reduce the 1995 dues paid to KAC from $2188.41 to the 1993dues of $1774.13. Commissioner Wood seconded the motion. This motion passed unanimously.Commissioner Works moved to approve the County Clerks request to hire a part-time temporaryemployee to work 10 to 15 hours a week at $4.25 per hours. These funds will be taken from theelection fund. Commissioner Huskey seconded the motion. Huskey, Commissioner Dick Works and Laura Baker, CountyClerk.Commissioners approved the corrected minutes of the January 20, 1995, Allen CountyCommission meeting.Charles Shetlar met with the Commissioners to discuss the possible renovation of the Courthousefor ADA and security purposes. No action was taken.Mr. Walter Wulf Jr. and Roy Owens of Monarch Cement and Mr. Stanley Dreher, Chairman ofthe Allen County Zoning Committee, discussed the Zoning Committees' January 17threcommendation. During the January 17th hearing for the re-zoning of a tract of land in CottageGrove Township in Section Twenty- One (21), Township Twenty-Six (26), Range Eighteen (18)being the south half of the section lying east of the river except the north 766 feet southwestquarter section and except beginning at the south east corner of the section, west 26666.4 feet,north 66 degrees west 254.1 feet, north 21 degrees, east 238.92 feet, north 71 degrees west 89.1feet, north 423.06 feet, south 83 degrees west 235.62 feet, south 31 degrees west 23 feet, south35 degrees west 373.56 feet to bluff, southwest along bluff 1048 feet, south 80 degrees west947.1 feet to center of the river south to southwest corner of section, east to point of beginningexcept road the application was considered to change the use from Agricultural to limestonequarry. Public safety is the Commissioners concern involved in the re-zoning of this land toallow for Monarch's trucks off the county road. Commissioner Huskey moved to accept theZoning Board's recommendation to re-zone the above described property from agricultural tolimestone quarry. Commissioner Works seconded the motion. This motion passed unanimously.Mr. Steve Johnson, financial advisor from Advantage 2000, Inc., discussed possible healthinsurance and financing of a self funding plan. Commissioners requested Mr. Johnson to solicitquotes for Allen County employees' Health insurance benefits, tabulate and compare quotes frominsurance companies.Commissioner noted they will be meeting with Kansas Department of Health and Environment(KDHE) at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, January 26, 1995, at the county landfill.With no further business to come before the board, the meeting was adjourned until January 27,1995, at 8:30 a.m. in the commission room of the courthouse.
