<strong>School</strong> Policies (Continued)TECHNOLOGY POLICYTechnology - Computers are located in classrooms, computer labs and the learning resource centre. All students areexpected to become competent with the use of varied computer programs before leaving high school.a) <strong>McCoy</strong> provides internet access primarily for purposes of research. <strong>Student</strong>s are expected to work with themore “conventional” library resources available to them as well as the internet.b) <strong>Student</strong>s are responsible for appropriate behaviour on the internet. General school rules for behaviour andcommunications apply.c) The network administrator may review files and communications to maintain system integrity and ensure thatusers are using the system responsibly. Users should not expect that files will be private.d) No storage devices are allowed without permission of supervising teacher.e) Specific guidelines for internet are posted in computer areas.f) <strong>Student</strong>s are required to log on using their own “username” and “password” only.If these rules or guidelines are violated, the teacher or technology coordinator may remove a students computer privilegesfor a designated time period.ALCOHOL/DRUG POLICYThe use of drugs is strictly prohibited.
