With the beautiful summer season upon us it is important for drivers to remain alert and aware while driving andparking around schools. Drivers are urged to pull over when texting or talking on a cell phone as eyes should be onthe road and what lies ahead. The consequences for a moment of distraction could be as minor as a monetary fineor catastrophic as the loss of a life.Drivers not only have to be aware of other vehicles on the road, but for pedestrians as well. Children are themost difficult to see due to their size and it is imperative that while driving in a school zone that extra focus beplaced on the road. When parking/stopping near a crosswalk, vehicles must be 5 meters or 16 feet away (roughlythe length of a mid-sized sedan).
